LAN står for «lokalt nettverk » (local area network) og er en kjent samlebetegnelse for datatreff. LAN er gjerne et arrangement hvor data-interesserte mennesker samles for bl.a. å spille ulike typer spill, konkurranser, sosiale arrangement med mer. LAN er et arrangment der du møter andre med samme interesser, blir kjent og deltar i et felleskap.

Et av Norges aller mest kjente LAN, og Norges største, er The Gathering i Vikingskipet. 5 dager i påsken 2019 var det samlet 5000 data-intresserte mennesker! Dette er virkelig et møtested for kreativitet, mangfold og utfoldelse innen digital kultur og skaperglede.

Her i Fredrikstad har Døgnvill LAN gjennom flere år arrangert LAN i Fredrikstad.

2.oktober til 5.oktober 2019 arrangerer Døgnvill LAN i Folkets hus, Torsnes. Disse dagene fylles hele Folkets Hus med datainteresserte i alderen 13 til 25 år til mange ulike aktiviteter. Døgnvill LAN driftes av en gjeng ildsjeler som gjør dette frivillig. Og dette er hele 18. gangen de arrangerer Døgnvill LAN!
